So, Heather tagged me at least a month ago and I'm finally responding! I'm supposed to either answer these questions or take a picture of everything in my purse. I think the questions are more fun since my purse is VERY minimalistic. The goods are in the diaper bag.
Anyway, here goes:
1. Where was I 10 years ago?
I was 16, a junior in high school, and living with my Nana. She had recently taught me to drive, which was the highlight of my 16 year old life.
2. Five things on my to do list for today:
It's a good thing this specified today!
1. Give Aidan a bath.
2. Send late birthday cards to Jen Dickens and Malcolm's Mom...oops!
3. Mommy time with each kid--I try to spend 1 on 1 time every day.
4. Practice piano--I promised my teacher I'd have this book finished when she gets back from her week at the temple.
5. My physical therapy workout. I have about a half an hour routine to do daily. I'm just praying that I will be finished with therapy by the end of April. I feel like I've watched a year of my life pass by not being able to do so many things that I used to take for granted...like picking up my kids without pain or driving. Well, I can drive again, but there were a couple of months where I couldn't turn my head or reach my arm across my body to grab the steering wheel, (sigh).
3. Five snacks I enjoy:
1. Cadbury mini eggs---I love Easter!
2. Fresh veggies with either my veggie dip, or my friend Ursula's fabulous spinach dip.
3. Tortilla chips with all sorts of different toppings---love them all!
4. Blueberries
5. Cheese
4. What would I do if I were suddenly a billionaire:
I guess the obvious stuff. Step one, pay off our student loans. Step two, buy a house (with a seriously rocking washing machine.) Furnish said house with actual matching furniture (but I would still keep a lot of what I have like the stuff that was my Nana's.) Pay off my Mom's and my Dad's medical bills, pay off Malcolm's parent's house, give to worthwhile charities, volunteer, and travel.
5. Four of my bad habits:
1. I'm HORRIBLE at remembering birthdays (see above.) I need to get some kind of birthday calendar or something.
2. Not eating until I'm starving. For example, it is 10:08AM, do you think I've eaten today?
3. Putting off the ironing. I THINK my rocking chair is still under the pile, but it's been a while since I've seen it, so I'm starting to have my doubts.
4. Not calling my friends. I'm always afraid I'll be bugging them or interrupting something.
6. Five jobs I have had:
1. Hand Inserter---seriously, that's what it's called, but it means stuffing fliers in newspapers.
2. Water Slide ---I sat in my bathing suit at the top of the slide and said "go."
3. Human Resources Assistant---I took people's resumes and matched them with available jobs, then sent them to the reps over those areas, this was my work-study at Dartmouth.
4. Substitute Teacher
5. Bank Service Representative
7. Five things people don't know about me:
1. I am EXTREMELY picky about shoes. I end up wearing the same ones until they are falling off my feet because I hate shopping for myself and I have to have that perfect balance of cute, comfortable, and affordable, plus I have really high arches. The clogs I wear all the time right now I've had since before Karina was born and they have a crack right accross the soles that lets water in, but I can't find the right shoe to replace them. I've had my sneakers since 1996 and my snow boots since 1994.
2. I was a BEATLES freak in high school. I still love the Beatles, but I no longer have countless bits of trivia memorized, lucky you.
3. I always read a book I've already read before I go to sleep. I need something to quiet my brain down, so I always choose something I've already read so I won't get too into it and stay up all night, and it can't be scriptures because I really don't want to associate scriptures with getting sleepy.
4. I love to cook. I have a small repertoire of stuff I love to make and I'm making a cookbook for my own use. I'm also always open to trying new things. This whole neck-shoulder think has really put a damper on this since I have a hard time lifting heavy cookware.
5. I love the ocean. I don't know what it is. When I'm there I just feel at peace.
Well, there you have it. I tag Megan, Erin, Erica, Becky, and Michelle. Just answer the same questions on your blogs or take a photo of all of the contents of your purse and describe them.
